Roquefort Les Pins

Roquefort Les Pins is located only 20 minutes from Nice International Airport. It is a small Provençal village in the hills, just 15 minutes from the coast. There is a local supermarket, bakeries, banks, a high end fruit and vegetable shop, a beauty salon, hairdressers, etc . Close by is an Italian restaurant/pizzeria, a gastronomic restaurant, an Asian restaurant serving sushi, Chinese, Thai & Vietnamese food (also available for take-out) and a few other traditional French restaurants and cafes. In addition, excellent take-away pizzas are available.

Coast & Beaches

The coast is a 15 minutes drive. The closest beaches are at Cagnes Sur Mer and Villeneuve Loubet. A 20 minute drive will take you to the famous Promenade des Anglais in Nice . The closest sandy beaches are in either Antibes , Cannes or Theoule Sur Mer where you can either use the public beaches or pay to use the private beaches.

Golf

There are many superb golf courses in the immediate vicinity. Opio Valbonne Golf Course is 7 minutes away, Grande Bastide in Opio is 10 minutes away, Royal Mougins Golf Club and Cannes Mougins Golf Club are 20 minutes away. Villeneuve Loubet Golf Course is 5 minutes away for driving practice and a quick 9 holes.

Travel

Nice International Airport is the closest airport and is a 20 minute drive from the house. There is a bus stop at the bottom of the main road which goes from Grasse to Nice (stopping at the airport) but it is recommended that you have your own car to get around.

Other activities

There are plenty of activities for young and old in the area. There is a weekly market in Roquefort Les Pins on Wednesdays, one in Valbonne on Fridays, and plenty of galleries to visit in both Mougins and St Paul de Vence (both 20 mins drive). 5 minutes down the road is a labyrinthe and adventure playground for small children and an adventure course and canyoning for children 8 years and older to adults. In Pont Du Loup, which is a 15 minute drive, there is a traditional French sweet factory where you can take a tour and do some tasting, then walk up the river which runs alongside. There are also endless scenic drives to explore in all directions which lead to mountain villages, lakes and beaches. For those interested, there are magnificent hiking trails for all levels of hikers.
